Abstract
To meet the increasing worldwide energy requirements and avoid associated environmental pollution, the search for clean and renewable energy sources has attracted more and more public attention. Electrochemical transformation plays a key role in the development of sustainable energy resources, which can be used to generate power, store energy and synthesise chemicals. Electrochemical Transformation of Renewable Compounds presents the basic fundamentals of different electrochemical transformations for clean energy and places a significant emphasis on the key developments of various electrochemical processes using the state-of-the-art materials. Written by electrochemical energy scientists who have worked on the application of electrocatalysis in environmental and energy area, this book provides comprehensive coverage of main electrochemical transformation processes, including oxygen (O2) evolution, hydrogen (H2) generation, oxygen reduction, carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction, nitrogen (N2) reduction, methanol oxidation, urea oxidation and ammonia oxidation. This chapter gives a brief introduction of each chapter included in this book in the following sections under different categories, in order to give readers an idea of the content of this book.
