Abstract

This tutorial provides an overview and introduction to electrochemical analysis techniques, which are useful for studying and characterizing redox active macromolecules. The field of redox active macromolecules encompasses a diversity of molecule classes, which have in common that they are increasingly applied in vital areas such as molecular switches and biomedical devices, but also for stimuli-responsive delivery systems, and in energy-related topics such as (bio)fuel cells, organic solar cells, and electrochemical energy storage systems. Hence, the comprehensive investigation of redox macromolecules in terms of function in dependence of their redox state is a fundamental prerequisite for advancing such applications.
