Abstract

Process of preparation of tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate, a neutral ester of ethylene chlorohydrin and phosphoric acid, by direct electrochemical synthesis from elemental phosphorus and ethylene chlorohydrin in a diaphragmless electrolyzer was studied. Solubility of white phosphorus in tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate was studied. The formation of tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate from white and red phosphorus was found to proceed in close yields.
