Abstract

In this discourse, exfoliated graphene is synthesized from graphite foil electrochemically and cerium vanadate was obtained hydrothermally. This research article discusses the fabrication of a series of composites based on exfoliated graphene supplemented with CeVO4 via hydrothermal route by maintaining the amount of CeVO4 as static and varying the proportion of graphene to obtain GO@CeVO4 or CG. The morphological and structural analysis of the synthesized outcomes were executed with relevant and advance characterization techniques. Electrochemical tests were conducted using CV, GCD and EIS. The best optimized composite CG3 exhibited a maximum specific capacitance of 1590 F/g at a scan rate of 5 mV/s in 1 M H2SO4. A remarkable energy density of 217.5 Wh/kg and power density of 252.4 W/kg were manifested by CG3 at a current density of 0.5 A/g. Additionally, magnificent cyclic stability with good retention, 98.04 % over 14,000 cycles were also observed for CG3. DFT is used as a supporting tool to get the band gap. Herein, photodegradation of Rose Bengal was also performed and CG3 manifested appreciable dye degradation of 90.7 % against Rose Bengal.
