Abstract
2-Amino-5-(2-methylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives were synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of semicarbazone at platinum electrode. The resulting compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectral data. The electrolysis was carried out in acetonitrile using lithium perchlorate as a supporting electrolyte. Two platinum plates were used as working as well as counter electrode and saturated calomel electrode as a reference electrode.
