Abstract
Processes of the electrodeposition-dissolution on a niobium substrate have been studied by the chronopotentiometric method in the molten salt of NaCl-KCl-LaCl3 at the temperature of 1073 K. The electrolysis parameters leading to the formation of niobium-lanthanum solid solutions on the surface niobium have been established. Their heat-resistance has been determined in the air atmosphere at the temperature of 873 K. The possibility of the weak protection of niobium from oxidation due to the formation of LaNbO3 and LaNbO4 compounds on its surface has been demonstrated
