Abstract
Abstract Results indicate that crack initiation may involve preferential dissolution at a point of dislocation pile-ups. Anodic dissolution at the crack tip is possible and may play some part in crack propagation. A region in the potential and the current versus time curves is directly related to the crack propagation.
