Abstract

A component of biosensor was prepared based on vanadium pentoxide xerogel (V2O5) and glucose oxidase (GOx). GOx was immobilized on V2O5 to obtain V2O5/GOx thin film. V2O5/GOx thin film was deposited onto an indium-tin-oxide-coated polyethylene terephthalate film as substrate. The immobilization of the enzyme GOx on V2O5 was cross-linked by covalent bonds. After immobilization of GOx, an increase in total charge was observed. The rugosity factor indicated a 0.125 of electrochemically active surface of V2O5/GOx with low porosity. V2O5/GOx thin film presented a sensibility in different concentrations of glucose as well as a good linear correlation.
