Abstract
The fabrication of novel sensors for the selective and sensitive detection of hazardous analytes is of great significance. Herein, we describe the development of a nitrogen-doped Co metal–organic framework-based material (N-Co-MOF) for the selective electrochemical detection of hydrazine (HZ) and hydrogen peroxide (HP). The as-synthesized material was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. N-Co-MOF displayed uniform rhombic dodecahedron morphology with high surface area (1585.51 m2 g−1) and superior activity for the electrochemical detection of HZ and HP. The designed sensor showed wide linear ranges of 20–380 and 10–190 µM with low detection limits of 0.072 and 0.04 µM for the detection of HZ and HP, respectively. The introduction of hetero atoms improved the dispersion stability and electrocatalytic activity. This result may pioneer the development of PVP-assisted MOF materials for the electrochemical detection of hazardous analytes.
