Abstract

Conducting polymer colloids containing a protein (HSA) have been produced using electrochemical polymerisation under hydrodynamically controlled conditions. The effect of buffer, supporting electrolyte, pH and steric stabiliser on the colloid formation process has been evaluated. Absence of the steric stabiliser results in a colloid with an increased protein content. The protein remains active after incorporation into the colloid.
