Abstract
Electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole from acetonitrile solution with simultaneous incorporation of doping agent (tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate) and oxidizing agent (pyridinium chlorochromate) enables the preparation of thick porous polypyrrole (PPy) layers with electrical conductivity which ranges from 1 to 50 S/cm. The influence of the different oxidizing agent concentrations on the structure and properties of PPy layers has been investigated. Surface morphology of thick porous PPy layers and thin PPy films which were prepared in the presence of doping agent has been studied by scanning electron microscopy. The anistropy of electrical conductivity of the electrode side of thick porous PPy layers has been found. Study of the IR spectra of films, layers and all reactants confirmed the structural differences of both PPy materials.
