Abstract

Electrically conducting composite films from polypyrrole(PPy) and poly-esteramide(PEA) with good mechanical properties (tensile strength 79.3N / mm 2, elongation at break 13%) and conductivity (6.5–24.8) close to PPy, had been obtained by electrochemical-polymerizing pyrrole on Pt working electrode coated with PEA film(PEA / Pt). It was found that PPy growed layer by layer from the PEA / Pt interface through the PEA matrix and about 40wt% of PPy would fill up the matrix. The effect of the electrochemical polymerization conditions on polymerization process and the properties of composite films had also been investigated.
