Abstract

LiFePO 4 was surface modified with PbTe via a hydrothermal process followed by heat-treating. The LiFePO 4 -PbTe materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The XRD results indicate that the crystal structure of LiFePO 4 does not change after surface coating. The TEM image shows a coating layer on the surface of the LiFePO 4 core. Electrochemical analysis demonstrates that the discharge capacity and capacity retention behavior of LiFePO 4 are remarkably improved after surface modification.
