Abstract
The electrochemical noise of a primary lithium battery was measured at an open circuit by two experimental approaches: with a filtering capacitor and with the same battery to eliminate open circuit voltage of the system under test. Both methodologies give the same results if they are applied correctly but they can sometimes cause experimental problems. Two experiments were carried out with battery discharge at resistive load. It was shown that it is very difficult to provide the conditions for properly operation of the two battery method to avoid saturation of measurement device when the amplifier uses high gain values.
