Abstract

This study, the nanocomposites were formed by spin coating, for which nanofiller formation (NiO) occurred through the use of the Pechini method, and these were incorporated into the polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The interactions between the matrix–reinforcement were analyzed using FTIR spectroscopy. In the images by SEM, we observed the non-uniformity of circular void structures, characteristic of homogenized PMMA. The electrochemical tests, allowed us to observe in which the redox reactions are attributed to the NiO added in the PMMA, and the specific capacitance results ranged from 119 to 407 µF.g−1, for PMMA/NiO 1% and 5%, respectively. By analysis of EIS, presented typical behavior of capacitive materials. In terms of complex capacitance, the current capacitance C’(ω) reached 35, 40 and 43 µF.cm−2, to PMMA/NiO. For complex power, the intersections curves occurred at 70%. The results obtained in the work suggest that PMMA/NiO in are of interest for applications in electronic devices.
