Abstract

Exploring efficient electrocatalytic systems for hydrogen production is crucial but challenging for realizing hydrogen economy. In this issue of Chem Catalysis , Zhou and co-workers developed a room temperature electrocatalytic chemical looping system based on copper oxide as the oxygen carrier and ascorbate as the fuel for low energy consumption hydrogen production.
