Abstract

La 0.8 Sr 0.2 Co 0.8 Fe 0.2 O 3-δ perovskite powders were prepared by Pechini method. TG/DTA measurements were carried out on the perovskite precursor gels. Phase analysis of the powder was investigated by XRD. For the electrochemical characterization, LSCF electrodes were deposited by wet spray technique onto dense YSZ layers. The morphology of the deposited perovskite thick film was investigated by FE-SEM. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements were carried out over a synthetic air flux at temperatures from 200 °C to 600 °C in the frequency range of 10 MHz - 10 mHz. At intermediate temperatures and frequencies below 0.1 MHz it is possible to fit three semicircles for the response of electrode material to the applied field. These contributions can be related with charge transfer processes and/or non-charge transfer process that includes oxygen surface exchange, solid-state diffusion and gas diffusion. The activation energy determined for the limiting process is 1.79(5) eV.
