Abstract
A calcia doped zirconia solid oxide electrolyte galvanic cell was investigated in the temperature range of 700–950°C to directly and more accurately measure the standard Gibbs free energy change of the following reactions: CO(g) + 1 2 O 2(g) = CO 2(g) C ( graphite) + CO 2( g) = 2 CO( g). The results obtained in the present investigation are well within the scatter band of the calorimetric and spectroscopic data.
