Abstract

Studies were made on electrochemical behaviors of LaCrO3 based, SrTiO3 based, and CeO2 based oxide anodes. Steady state polarization and AC impedance measurements were carried out in H2-H2O-Ar gas-mixtures. Electrode microstructure was observed by SEM before and after electrochemical measurements. The CeO2 based anodes showed higher performance than the LaCrO3 based and the SrTiO3 based oxide anodes. Morphological changes during electrochemical measurements were observed in niobia-doped ceria anodes. Gadolinia-doped ceria anodes showed the highest electrode performance and high redox tolerance. The electrode performance did not show clear relation with the electrode microstructure.
