Abstract

The aim of this work was first to characterize a Moroccan clay powder employed particularly in the ceramic industry. Afterwards, electrochemical and rheological properties of this powder in concentrated aqueous suspensions (50 % wt) were studied in order to optimize the stability of these slurries. Polarization resistance (Rp) and Viscosity (η) measurements techniques were used to study these properties. In fact, Rp and η were determined as a function of pH and especially discussed and compared to other previous works. Ce travail porte d'abord sur la caractérisation d'une argile marocaine qui est utilisée en particulier dans l'industrie céramique. Ensuite, les propriétés électrochimiques et rhéologiques de barbotines à 50 % en poids de matière sèche de cette poudre ont été étudiées, dans le but d'optimiser la stabilité de ces suspensions. Les techniques utilisées pour étudier ces propriétés sont les mesures de résistance de polarisation (Rp) et de viscositÉ (η). En effet, les résultats de ces mesures en fonction du pH ont été plus particulièrement discutées.
