Abstract

AbstractThe present work describes the electrocatalytic oxidation of nitrite in the presence of a composite of coordination polymer of cobalt‐4‐pyridylporphyrin and electrochemically reduced graphene oxide. The electrode was modified by drop‐casting a suspension of graphene oxide and polymeric cobalt‐4‐pyridylporphyrin followed by reduction through cyclic voltammetry in the potential range 0.0 V to −1.5 V. The electrocatalytic investigations were carried out by voltammetric (cyclic, linear sweep, differential pulse and hydrodynamic) and by amperometric methods. The LOD and the working range obtained through different techniques are compared. The rate constant for this heterogeneous electron transfer reaction is 2.45×10−2 cms−1.
