Abstract

Electrochemical oxidation of ruthenium coupled with a simultaneous desorption of the volatile RuO 4 species formed may be efficient process for the separation of this element from the nitric acid fuel dissolution solution. Our results point out the significant effect of Ag(II) redox mediator and the concentration of HNO 3 on the yield in the electro-volatilisation of the RuO 2, xH 2O dissolution solution in comparison with the case of nitrato-RuNO 3+ synthetic solution.
