Abstract

Corrosion inhibition behavior of the extract of guava (Psidium guajava) leaves towards mild steel in HCl media have been studied by polarization, EIS, adsorption and surface studies at different temperatures. Polarization studies showed that this extract has good inhibition efficiency (IE) and acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. As the concentration of the extract increases, the IE also increases, whereas with respect to temperature the corrosion inhibition shows a reverse trend.
