Abstract

There are two types of instrument now available for measurement of the acoustic impedance of the human middle ear. One employs a purely acoustical method and the other an electroacoustical method. While the latter may be less direct, it can give more information on middle-ear conditions. It is also particularly suitable for use with infants and children.
