Abstract

Abstract Electroabsorption and electrophotoluminescence spectra of supramolecular porphyrin dimers in a solid film of poly(methyl methacrylate), PMMA, have been examined. The electroabsorption spectra in the Soret band region are fitted by the deconvolution of the corresponding absorption spectrum into four components, indicating that electroabsorption measurements are useful to identify bands that are hard to distinguish in absorption spectra. The values of the changes in molecular polarizability and dipole moment following photoexcitation are evaluated at each absorption band.
