Abstract

Properdin concentrations in 22 human sera were determined by both electroimmunoassay and radioimmunoassay. A close correlation between the results of the two methods was noted ( r = 0.8945). Values obtained by electro-immunoassay were readily reproducible and did not change after 2 weeks of aging at 4°C. Since the electroimmunoassay is simpler to perform and requires less sophisticated equipment, it would appear to be the method of choice for serum determinations.
