Abstract

A description of experiments on electrization of convective clouds during their development (including those that were seeded to accelerate microphysical processes, namely, to crystallize supercooled cloud droplets) is presented. It is concluded that measurements of electrical cloud parameters can be used for instrumental control of cloud modification, for example, for an evaluation of microphysical changes in clouds. From changes in parameters of the electric fields, it is possible to determine the beginning of transformation of Cu Cong to Cb, the dynamics of processes in a Cb cloud, and the start of precipitation formation. The necessity of using of a unified methodology of positioning relative to an object of measurement for obtaining comparable experimental data is emphasized.
