Abstract

ABSTRACTA broadband non‐Foster matched Planar Inverted‐F Antenna is proposed for 100–500 MHz VHF/UHF handheld terminal applications. The proposed design shows that in the lower frequencies antenna gain improvement of as much as 25 dB can be obtained with the help of the broadband matching circuit for a small antenna on a 0.05 wavelength ground plane at the lowest frequency. The issues of RF power versus matching and circuit stability are pointed out. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 55:2494–2497, 2013
