Electrical safety practices in cement industry for sustainable operation

Abstract

Safety is an integral part of industrial management system. By adopting safe practices and procedures, we can overcome any risk to human life, costly machine damages and unrest due to low morale of the workmen. Electrical safety becomes the most important due to its very serious effects as a small mistake may cause fatality within no time. The present paper is about the electrical safety systems & procedures implemented in our organization. It covers the major challenges we faced and how we overcome them and the difference we observed before and after its implementation. We observed that earlier we were merely adhering to the electrical rules and regulation but no significant effect was observed during working in the field. After standard implementations the overall organizational climate has changed in which every individual irrespective of its position has awareness about the safe practices to adopt while working on/near to electricity.
