Abstract

Abstract In an effort to finely control the emission spectrum of quantum dot, oleylamine, the original amine ligand which is coordinated on the surface of InP/ZnSeS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) was replaced by bidentate dithiocarbamate (DTC) ligands having strong coordination ability and electrical resonance structures. 1H NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) and TGA (thermogravimetric analysis) data showed that some amine ligands on the surface of the QDs were replaced by DTC ligands. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra also show that the emission wavelength of the new QDs is increased by about 1–3 nm depending on the electrical resonant properties of the DTC ligand. QD-LED (light emitting diode) display devices were fabricated using QDs exchanged with DTC ligands and some improvements in the device electronic properties such as current density and luminance were observed.
