Abstract

The compound CePdSn is found to be an antiferromagnet with a Néel poin of 7 K. Experimental results on the alloy system Ce( Ni 1− x Pd x ) Sn revealed that the transport properties change from a semiconducting-like Kondo state to a metallic one with increase in x. YbNiSn is a new Kondo compound with a small ferromagnetic moment below 5.5 K.
