Abstract

The electrical resistivity and specific heat properties of two Nd-Fe-B alloys samples, Nd5Fe62B33 and Nd15Fe77B8, have been investigated between 300 and 700 K. Both electrical resistivity and specific heat of Nd15Fe77B8 has shown an anomalous behavior near 566 K, while that of Nd5Fe62B33 is less clear and smeared out. The simple power law C=Aε−α +B has been used to fit the specific heat data of Nd15Fe77B8 for the critical indices α and α′. The Curie temperature of Nd15Fe77B8 determined experimentally is 566 K. From electrical resistivity data near 566 K of both materials, Nd5Fe62B33 shows only a minute bending in dρ/dT, but Nd15Fe77B8 behaves drastically different and is similar to the type III ferromagnet.
