Abstract

Binary semiconducting glasses of xV 2 O 5·(1− x) B 2 O 3 system with x ranging from 0.6 to 0.9 have been investigated to elucidate their electronic conduction. The values of conductivity and activation energy of these glasses are in good agreement with previous results on most V 2O 5-based glasses. Arguments for the small-polaron as the charge carrier in V 2O 5B 2O 3 glasses are presented.
