Abstract
In our research it has been firstly found that BaTiO 3 materials doped BaBiO 3 only show negative temperature coefficient effect over a wide temperature range. Major phases present in the sintered bodies are BaTiO 3 compounds with a perovskite structure and BaBiO 3 compounds with a monoclinic structure. The influence of CeO 2 addition on the electrical properties of BaTiO 3-based negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors has been studied. All the NTC thermistors prepared show a linear relationship between log resistivity and the temperature, indicative of NTC characteristics. At a given BaTiO 3 and BaBiO 3 content, as the amount of CeO 2 in BaTiO 3-based ceramics thermistors increases, the room temperature resistivity and the coefficient of temperature sensitivity ( B constant) increase.
