Abstract

Closed-cell aluminium alloy foams were produced using the powdermetallurgical technique. The effect of porosity and cell diameter onthe electrical conductivity of foams was investigated and the resultswere compared with a number of models. It was found that thepercolation theory can be successfully applied to describe thedependence of the electrical conductivity of aluminium alloy foams onthe relative density. The cell diameter has a negligible effect on theelectrical conductivity of foams.
