Abstract

Chitosan/Poly (Vinyl Alcohol) blend embedded by bismuth(III) oxide nanoparticles (Bi2O3 NPs) as a new composite substance to improve electrical properties. Chitosan/PVA/Bi2O3 nanocomposite films were prepared via laser ablation. XRD perform the appearing of patterns related to the planes of bismuth rhombohedral crystal structure NPs (code: 01-085-1330). The average crystal size of bismuth oxide nanoparticles has been found to be 47 nm. The bands of Bi–O stretching vibration was obtained at about 1517 cm-1 and 1423 cm-1 and confirm the existance of bismuth oxide nanoparticles. Due to increasing the conductive pathways between the filled (bismuth nanoparticles), higher values of ϭac relative to Chitosan/PVA rise and the volume of space charge rises due to increased conductivity.
