Abstract

The I–V characteristics of CdSe films, well stabilized in dry air, were studied with electrode materials of different work functions. The conduction mechanism was found to be of the Poole-Frenkel type. The average activation energy associated with the ohmic region was found to be 0.177 eV. The breakdown field was inversely dependent on film thickness and was interpreted in terms of the Forlani-Minnaja theory.
