Abstract

SummarySix patients with recurrent supraventricular or ventricular arrhythmias unresponsive to conventional medical treatment were selected for a trial of electrical pacing in an attempt to control the arrhythmias. All six patients had disabling symptoms, and had documentation of the arrhythmias. In five of the six patients the trial of pacing, combined with drug therapy was successful. Treatment has continued using an implanted cardiac pacemaker.
