Abstract
A new material, which takes the place of polyethylene, is desired to be developed in order to raise a working voltage and decrease thickness of an insulator. There was a report that the breakdown strength of polyethylene was raised by immersing it into benzene for one year because of resonant energy absorption of the benzene ring [1]. By getting a hint from the report, new materials, copolymers of ethylene and various aromatic monomers, were developed and their electrical properties such as breakdown strength, conductivity and dielectric tanδ have been studied.
