Abstract

Nanocrystalline La0.8Pb0.2Fe0.8Co0.2O3 has been prepared by the citrate method. The structure, electrical and CO gas-sensing properties were investigated. The results demonstrated that La0.8Pb0.2Fe0.8Co0.2O3 is a perovskite phase with the orthorhombic structure, it shows p-type semiconducting properties. In a wide temperature range of 40–200°C, La0.8Pb0.2Fe0.8Co0.2O3-based sensor showed good sensitivity and selectivity to CO gas. An empirical relationship of R=KCH2α with α=0.61 can be obtained.
