Abstract

This paper investigates characteristics of electrical tranisent responses, including short-circuit currents and opencircuit voltages, at input terminals of a bolt-clamped Langevin type (BLT) transducer under different one-shot hitting drive conditions by theretical and experimental results. The characteristics contain maximum short-circuit currents, maximum open-circuit voltages, oscillation frequencies, time constants and dissipation energies. In doing so, an equivalent circuit model of the BLT transducer for deriving the tranisent responses and their characteristics is proposed first. Then, a driving and mesuring system, including an one-shot force generator, an oscilloscope and a current sensor, for getting experimental results of the characteristics is constructed. The experimental results are compared with the theretical results. Finally, effects of magnitudes of one-shot hitting forces on the characteristics of the tranisent responses for the BLT transducer under different drive condtions are discussed.
