Abstract

Developing powertrains for Electric Vehicles requires first to evaluate thetarget vehicle. From vehicle data, the resistant forces appearing duringvehicle movement can be determined. The requiredpower and torque for the propulsion system depend onvehicle speed and road slope angle. To reduce the losses on mechanical transmissions in-wheel motors are used. The motors are limited by thetorque, power, and speed capabilities. In the present paper, the vehicle performance isanalyzed fromthis perspective including nominal and maximum supported values by the powertrain motors.
