Abstract

In this work, we model the reduced electric transition probabilities B(Eλ) between collective quadrupole–octupole basis states of well-defined transformation properties with respect to high-rank intrinsic symmetry groups, e.g. tetrahedral (Td) or octahedral (O) groups. Out of the transitional matrix elements calculated for basis states, one can easily calculate B(Eλ)s corresponding to realistic collective wave functions.
