Abstract

Energy hub (EH) is gradually used in microgrid (MG) for local generation, transfer, and storage of several forms of energy. This manuscript suggests bottlenose dolphin optimizer (BDO), HPSO-TVAC and GWO for optimum day-ahead scheduling of grid connected MG based on renewable EH. The power swap between grid and MG is bidirectional. MG consists of small hydro power plants (SHPPs), wind turbine generators (WTGs), solar micro-cogeneration (SMC) units, biomass-fuel-fired micro-cogeneration (BMC) units, battery energy storage system (BESS), plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), electric chiller (EC), absorption chiller (AC), ice storage conditioner (ISC) and thermal energy storage system (TESS). SMC units and BMC units are incorporated alternately. Demand response program (DRP) is applied for electric, thermal and cooling demands to flatten demand curves and to improve system flexibility and decrease cost.
