Abstract

Given the current automobile industry development state and its outlined trends we can confidently assert that the intrinsic part of implemented technologies both in near and far future will comprise of powertrain electrification in order to aid low-carbon development, complex intellectualization of vehicles and associated infrastructure. Thus, aspects mentioned above explain the objective topicality for creation of an electric vehicle virtual copy, digital twin, based on electric vehicle components and systems simulation. This being said, simulation models as such, apart from traditional use in theoretical studies at the development stage, become part of a strictly practical application - real vehicle operation. The present article suggests a traction inverter with integrated charger simulation model implementation as a part of a complex electric vehicle propulsion system simulation. Basic equation systems are applied in presented complex simulation that are fundamental for component simulation model and presented as structural schemes for further software implementation. The article additionally focuses on recreation of a fast charger as part of a suggested traction inverter. The depicted simulation model allows recreation of electric propulsion system processes in a scope of electric vehicle operation modes.
