Abstract
An useful division of power train configurations can be made by conventional power trains, including the micro-hybrid, with exclusively combustion-engined drive of the wheels, electric power trains, including the serial hybrid, with exclusively electromotive drive of the wheels and hybrid power trains with both types of drive. Subdivisions of the electric drive are the wheel hub motor with or without a reduction stage, the single ratio central drive with or without differential or the two or more ratio central drive for high speed electric machines. Special requirements for transmission systems combined with electric machines such as high accelerated masses in wheel hub motors and high gyratory speeds in high speed machines differ from transmission systems in conventional power trains.
