Abstract

The main problems in electric power system control, from optimal scheduling of generation, static and dynamic security, power-frequency control, voltage and reactive power optimization and regulation, high voltage direct current inter connection control, to the use of on-line computers in dispatching centers and in network substations, are described. Brief comments are given on present trends and recent results of research work in this field.
