Abstract

The electric field gradient (EFG) and asymmetry parameter have been calculated for dilute Cu Ni, Cu Pd and Cu Pt alloys using a dielectric screening approach in the pseudopotential theory. The major contribution to EFG is found to arise from the valence effect as compared to the size effect, a novel feature.
