Abstract

The nanofiber has been applied to various technologies such as textile technology, medical production, filtration devices or electronic devices. Nanofiber by electrospin preparation has been extensively studied. In particular, the structural properties of the fiber such as fiber diameter and alignment were mainly focused. Here, the electrospining with two parallel plate collectors was used to fabricate the PVA nanofiber. The result shown that the minimum fiber diameter was obtained when using the parallel plate gap of 2.0 cm, the plate-to-tip height of 15.0 cm and applied voltage of 15 kV. From SEM results, the average diameter of nanofibers at approximately 135.55±5.79 to 340±29.91 nm was obtained and fiber alignment was investigated. In addition, the light absorption of nanofiber in wavelength range of 300-1100 nm was investigated. Therefore, the electrospinning method with parallel plate collector can be applied for low fiber diameter and high ordering alignment, which may be applied for optoelectronic development.
