Abstract
By investigating the intensity of He I spectral lines emitted after excitation by 10–25 keV HeHe collisions as a function of an axial electric field, electric dipole moments of the impact-excited n = 4 states were determined. Though neutral projectiles were used, large dipole moments were measured.
